Definition of Social
Definition
of Social
From the
Latin socialis , social is that belonging or relative
to society. Remember that society is understood as the set of
individuals who share the same culture and who interact with
each other to form a community .
In this
sense, the social can give a sense of belonging because it implies something
that is shared at the community level. For example, the notion of social
coexistence refers to the way in which the members of a society coexist.
We would
also find ourselves with the social pressure that we can say is that forceful
influence that society exerts on each and every one of the members that compose
it.
The social
adjective can be used to form different concepts. A social worker is
a qualified person who is responsible for preventing or solving social problems
through various procedures, advice, reports and financial aid.
There is
also what is known as social spending, that is, the amount of money that the
government of a country or a city dedicates to cover and satisfy the basic and
primordial needs of all its citizens.
In the same
way we can talk about the so-called Social Security, which to some extent is
very related to the aforementioned concept. Specifically, this is a term
we use to define the organization that exists in a specific state and whose
clear objective is to meet the health and economic needs of its population.
And that is
precisely where the concept of beneficiary of social security emerges that
comes to be defined as the person who has the right to receive a certain
benefit from those granted by the aforementioned Social Security.
The social
classes are formed by people who present customs, economic means
and similar interests: "Our relationship is impossible: we belong to
two different social classes" .
The social
sciences are those that are in charge of studying different aspects of the
life and history of man : "Anthropology is a social
science" .
A social
work is an entity that has charitable or non-profit purposes: "I
must ask for a shift in the social work to see my doctor" .
Finally, we
can mention that the company name is the name by which a company is
known collectively, anonymously or limitedly. It is the formal name,
instead of the brand that the public knows: "Gamesoft is the
trademark of Wonderful Actiland SA" .
Within the
business scope, other terms are also used, which are partly formed by the word
we are now analyzing. Thus, in addition to the previous one, there is what
is known as social capital. This is a word that comes to define the whole
set of goods, material type, and money that the partners of a given company
contribute to it so that it can function properly.
