Before proceeding to determine the meaning of the term university career, we will proceed to discover the etymological origin of the two words that give it form: 

-Carrera is a term that comes from Latin. Specifically, it derives from "carraria", which is the result of the sum of "carrus", which is synonymous with "car", and the suffix "-arius", which is used to indicate relationship or belonging. 

-University, on the other hand, is a word that also comes from Latin. It can be translated as "belonging to the university" and is the result of the union of two words: "unus", which is equivalent to "one", and "versus".


There are many meanings of the term career . In this case we are interested in its meaning as the series of studies that a person must take to access a degree and thus be able to exercise a certain profession.

University , for its part, is that linked to the university : a house of higher education. The universities are usually formed by different faculties and have other related institutions, such as schools, libraries and research centers.


From these definitions it is easy to understand what a university degree is . It is about the studies that an individual develops in a university with the objective of reaching an academic degree. For example: "My son completed two university degrees and he's barely 30 years old" , "I still do not know what university career I'm going to choose" , "Advocacy is one of the most popular university careers in our country" .


The State , through the Ministry of Education or a similar body, is responsible for officializing the degrees that are awarded when someone completes a university career. Similarly, the State keeps a record of the entities that are authorized to provide the educational service.


University careers can be taken at public or private universities . In general, these courses are structured so that they can be completed in four or five years, although that time may vary depending on the student.


The degree title that grants a university degree varies according to the training . According to the case, an individual who completes a university career can become a lawyer , architect , doctor or graduate in Communication Sciences , to name a few possibilities.


More and more young people do not hesitate to pursue a university career. They do it because they believe that it brings benefits such as the following: 

- It is believed that it is a way to achieve a better future. And is that the chances of achieving a desired job and higher qualification are greater.
-In the same way, another advantage is to achieve the development of greater skills in a specific area. 

- It is also necessary to know that having a university career is a great enrichment at a cultural and personal level.

-Of course, we must not overlook that it is considered that studying this training is a way to achieve greater self-esteem and greater self-confidence. And it is to go surpassing the different courses is to increase the confidence you have in yourself.
