Definition of Operation
Definition
of Operation
Originating
in operative Latin , the concept of operation refers to
the act and the result of operating (a verb that describes the
realization or execution on a living organism of multiple healing
acts). The operation involves implanting, removing, amputating,
sewing or restoring organs, body parts or tissues . For
example: "My father needs a cardiac operation to survive" , "I
got hurt playing soccer and the only option I have left is the meniscus
operation" .
In the
medical case, we find a large number of operations that have become the most
frequent in an operating room. Among them are appendectomy, biopsy,
caesarean section or coronary artery bypass.
At a general
level, operation is understood as the concretion of something: "A
political operation has left the socialist leader without a place in the
cabinet" , "My boss is furious at the press operation
against the company" .
In the field
of trade , an operation constitutes a negotiation or allows the
contract to be named on securities or merchandise, as is the case with stock
exchange operations .
In the field
of mathematics , however, it is known as operations to the group of
rules that enable, from one or more quantities or expressions (understood
as data ), find out and get other figures or structures (which are
called results ).
Thus, among
the most frequent mathematical operations or that are the basis of the rest of
this science are addition, subtraction, division and multiplication.
An operation
can also be developed in the military field . In this case, it
is a logistical planning that is carried out with a defined
objective: "The operation at the border has been a success and we
have detected several secret positions of the enemy" .
Among the
most relevant military operations would be, for example, the so-called
Operation Fénix that took place in 2008 and consisted of an attack by the
Colombian Area Force in the Peruvian jungle area of Santa Rosa de Yanamaru. This
action ended the lives of more than twenty guerrillas of the FARC.
In the same
way, we must not forget the Operation or Battle of Gallipoli that took place
during the First World War and consisted of the bombardment, by French and
English ships, of the strong Ottomans.
Finally,
in computer science , a program or software performs
operations that are specified as part of an instruction so that it is specified
by a computer . The instructions, therefore, are composed of
logical operations that are transformed into actions from their execution by
computer equipment.
In addition
to all that we have mentioned, we have to show that in the last decade there
has been a great international success of a Spanish television program
called Operación Triunfo . A reality in which several young
passionate about music try to make a place in the world art scene.
In 2001,
this space began its journey, which has up to now with eight editions, and it
did so by becoming an authentic mass phenomenon. Its first edition has
been the most successful and from it came out singers of great current renown
such as Rosa Lopez, David Bisbal, David Bustamante or Chenoa.
